    Harassment Prevention

    Presented by: Theresa E. Rusnak, attorney with Bond, Schoeneck and King

    This presentation will provide an overview of legal issues surrounding the employment of transgender and non-binary individuals, and will encompass both federal and New York State law. Specifically, we will discuss how transgender and non-binary employees must be treated under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Gender Expression Non-discrimination Act, and the New York Human Rights Law. Topics such as pronoun usage, bathroom access, religious objections and correct terminology will also be addressed.

    Theresa Rusnak is a labor and employment law attorney who counsels employers in a widevariety of labor and employment law issues including wage and hour issues, claims of
    employment discrimination, harassment, wrongful discharge, and retaliation.
